The Care for the Underserved award lauds a person or organization for developing a program that provides access to health care, or improves the quality of medical care to underserved populations.
The Honorable Mention award goes to . . .
The “Dollars Allocated to Assist” program by Christians Overcoming Cancer!
This program known as DATA, helps cancer patients in active treatment who need immediate, non-medical financial relief services. Run by a 100% volunteer staff, the DATA program is funded solely on donations and fundraising activities of its volunteers, with the future hope of offering the service to anyone in need nationwide.
The judges felt the significant impact of this project on an underserved population, and were glad to see that their resources are dedicated solely to the cause. Congratulations to the DATA program and Christians Overcoming Cancer!
